Travel Tuesdays: Storm Pax Brought Ice/Snow to the South

The lovely snow view during our neighborhood walk.
For the second time in two weeks the South had snow. However, this time it brought lots of ice in addition to the snow. Thousands of airport delays and hundreds of thousands of people without lights across GA, SC, and NC. The hardest hit areas included Augusta, GA/Aiken, SC and Orangeburg County in SC.  Last Travel Tuesday we showed pictures of our walk in our neighborhood from Storm Leon.

Come take another walk and enjoy the pictures from Storm Pax.
The tree in front of our house buckled
under the heaviness of the ice

We saw a few footpaths in the snow during our walk.

Close-up of the footpaths in the snow.

Sharee smiles as snow starts falling again

The ice brought down the tree branches
in our backyard.

What did you do during Storm Pax?

  1. I stayed with my brother. He has a gas stove and a generator, so we could cook a little and had heat and light.

    1. That's great that you had family near by. My parents live 45 min away in Aiken, SC, and were without power for 3 1/2 days. They stuck it out and kept warm with a fireplace, and cooked on a kerosene griller. I'm sure if it was longer they would of stayed with me, but as my dad said, "we've been through this before 2 or 3 times in the 25+ years he's lived there" and wasn't going to let the storm drive him out his home that he worked so hard to build.

    2. Glad you had a place to go to. Many people didn't have a gas stove, generator, or kerosene heater when their power went out. Thanks for responding.
