We recently read the book The Promise of A Pencil that chronicles the journey of Adam Braun to more than fifty countries to find his calling. He left a promising Wall Street career to start a "for-purpose" organization that centered around a young boy in the streets of India, who when asked, "what he wanted most in the world", he simply answered, "A pencil". This was the inspiration for Pencils of Promise and with just $25 to start, within the last 5 years, he has built more than two hundred schools around the world, proving that anyone can create a movement that matters.
